A Youngberry (Rubus Cecaesius) is a cross between a blackberry variety called Phenomenal (which is blackberry-raspberry cross) and a Mayes Dewberry. When ripe, youngberries are conical and purplish-black with firm, juicy drupes. They are sweeter than blackberries and are without the typical tang and acidity. Youngberries have few seeds and a small core, allowing for greater juiciness of the drupes.
